Position Type: 12 Month FTC
Overview: We are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Stores Person. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of materials within our organisation, ensuring that parts and supplies are efficiently stored, located, and distributed as needed. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our operations and be a part of a dynamic team in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities:
- Issue and receive tools to/from certifying staff and mechanics
- Maintain full tool accountability at all times (especially during aircraft inputs)
- Conduct tool counts before, during, and after maintenance tasks
- Investigate and report lost, missing, or damaged tools immediately
- Control shadow boards, tool cabinets, and mobile toolkits
- Store parts in accordance with manufacturer and MOE requirements
- Control serviceable, unserviceable, quarantine, and scrap areas
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, ESD where applicable)
- Carry out stock checks and cycle counts
- Maintain stock rotation (FIFO)
- Issue parts to maintenance staff against work orders
- Ensure correct parts are issued for the task and aircraft
- Receive unused or removed components back into stores
Qualifications:
- Accurate completion of records and logs (manual or electronic)
- Basic IT competence (inventory systems, spreadsheets, document control)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Clear communication with engineers, mechanics, planning, and quality
- Ability to challenge and escalate non-compliance when necessary
- Strong safety mindset and willingness to report occurrences
- Ability to work methodically under time pressure
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Clean UK driving licence (for line maintenance roles)
Desirable:
- Forklift or manual handling certification
